Vantage: Member Owned, Member Led
At Vantage, we proudly talk about the credit union difference, but for us that difference is more than empty words. While banks have customers, we have “members.” That means that the “member-owners” of the credit union have an active say in the way in which the credit union operates, which is certainly true at Vantage.
Our members guide our mission and our vision. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we aren’t seeking to make money—instead, our goal is to provide the best services and support for our members. But it’s not just that our “members come first,” they actually own the credit union and they lead it.
Vantage is overseen by a group of volunteer members who serve on our Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. These volunteers establish our strategic plan and ensure that we operate safely, securely, and ethically as we work toward that plan.
Each year, we seek qualified volunteers from our membership in order to fill any vacancies. From October 1 through December 31, we invite our members to apply to our Nominating Committee which will present a voting slate of nominees at our Annual Meeting.
At Vantage, it’s all about our members. Our governance structure ensures that the ever-evolving needs of our member-owners are always at the forefront of our mission. It makes a difference in how we treat those who entrust us with their finances and how we operate every day. It’s one of the reasons why we’re so much more than just a financial institution.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer on our Board of Directors or Supervisory Committee, please complete the application by December 31.
